Riding Gear – Rokker Gentleman Racer Boots
One of the better ways to beat the doldrums at the office is to ride to work. But if you don’t like the idea of doing a complete wardrobe change when you arrive, we’d suggest these Rokker Gentleman Racer Boots. The Swiss company Rokker, known for making motorcycle jeans, have turned their attention to a line of Racer boots and they’ve raised the bar on style.
While these are probably not going to be the cheapest boots in your closet, they’re made to last. The sole features a stacked heel and Vibram rubber lug outsole that’s oil resistant and non-slip. If by chance the sole should ever wear out, the boot can be re-soled for life. The leather is polished vintage cowhide that breaks in handsomely, with reinforced protection at the heel and toe. The interior is lined with calfskin and the gusset at the tongue lends the boots added water resistance.
But the real selling point on these boots is the way they look. With a full-brogue wingtip detailing at the forefoot and broguing perforations running up the heel and ankle, they don’t look like a typical motorcycle boot. These Gentleman Racers look ready for a meeting with the execs — and you can head straight out for a ride afterward to clear your head after.
