Limited Edition – Unikat Triumph T100
For custom motorcycle builders making ends meet is a tough gig. Sometimes it takes more than just waiting for customers to come walking through the door. Poland’s Unikat Motorworks have set out to solve the problem by developing an off-the-shelf custom solution for new Triumph Bonneville T100 customers. Working closely with Triumph motorcycles Poland they have developed a bespoke cafe racer kit that adds plenty of custom cool without voiding any warranties.
According to Unikat’s Grzegorz Korczak, the idea was to “create a vintage-looking motorcycle based on a reliable and easy-to-use base.” To do this they reached out to Triumph to make a deal using one of the most popular bikes in their Modern Classics series, the Bonneville T100. With its reliable 900cc water-cooled, parallel twin and ABS the T100 represents a great starting point for newer riders or lovers of classic styling. As part of the special offering, Triumph buyers can purchase a new T100 and have it delivered to Unikat where they will complete the transformation. Best of all the work is covered by Triumph’s existing 2-year warranty.
The changes Unikat made to each bike are primarily cosmetic aside from a redesigned tail loop with integrated LED lighting. Other modifications include spoked Takasago Excel 18 inch alloy rims, handcrafted Unikat clip-on handlebars, a custom front fender and Bridgestone rubber. The filler cap on the original tank is replaced by a Monza style filler cap and there’s a matching Monza mirror. For tighter proportions, Unikat lowers the instrument cluster and install low profile LED indicators. For a cleaner looking cockpit, Unikat has also redesigned the top clamp and polished it to a mirror finish along with the engine’s cases. To liven up the bike’s engine a touch, the standard mufflers have also been switched for chromed reverse megaphones which Grzegorz says “Although injected the engine sounds like an old-school sporty twin!”
Best of all the Unikat Bonneville T100 “kits” themselves offer customers a couple of personalisation options to ensure their bike is truly one-of-a-kind. Customer options include choosing the colour scheme for the tank and side covers and what leather to cover the seat and grips with. This isn’t an offer all Triumph Poland customers can take advantage of though. Unikat has limited the offering to just 11 machines. Pricing for the completed bike (including purchase price) is €14,240 and if you’d prefer a Triumph T120 they can arrange that for you too.
