The Merlin Chase jacket is an all leather motorcycle jacket from the UK based riding gear manufacturer. Sporting timeless tracker-inspired styling the Chase features a two-tone design that stands out in a sea of all-black alternatives. To make this stylish jacket both comfortable and safe Merlin has constructed the jacket’s black torso and brown sleeves from supple, abrasion-resistant 1.2 – 1.3mm cowhide leather.
Beneath its all-leather exterior, the Chase contains CE level 2 elbow and shoulder armor. Merlin has also made space for an optional back protector inside the jackets satin lining. To take the Chase jacket’s functionality beyond spring/summer and into cooler months, Merlin includes a removable 100g thermal vest in the sale price. YKK zippers secure the chest opening and offer the ability to attach the jacket to riding jeans. Accordion panels aid with rider comfort and a concealed rear vent can be opened in summer to improve airflow.
The Merlin Chase jackets clean, timeless look comes from a restrained use of classic design features. On the jacket’s shoulders and sleeves are padded, tuck and roll styled panels. The pin-back short collar fastens using a press-stud closure. Four external zippered pockets double as ventilation and all secure using sturdy YKK zippers with leather pull tabs.
