A dramatic fusion of engineering theatre and collectible design, the Lotus C-01 remains one of the most visually arresting motorcycles of the modern era. Conceived by Lotus Motorcycles and styled by renowned automotive designer Daniel Simon, the C-01 blurred the line between superbike and rolling sculpture, with production limited to approximately 100 units worldwide.
Developed by German race constructor Kodewa in partnership with motorcycle engineering specialist Kalex under the licensed Lotus name, the C-01 paired futuristic aesthetics with serious mechanical pedigree.
Beneath its radical carbon-fibre bodywork sits a liquid-cooled 1,195cc V-twin engine derived from KTM architecture, producing roughly 200 horsepower through a six-speed transmission. The motorcycle delivers an uncompromising riding experience devoid of electronic safety nets such as ABS or traction control, emphasizing raw rider engagement over digital intervention.
Finished in polished chrome with vivid yellow accents across the fuel tank and radiator surround, this example commands attention from every angle. Gloss-black fork shrouds and rear bodywork complement the diamond-quilted leather saddle with contrasting yellow stitching.
High-end componentry further elevates the package, including Brembo braking hardware, Öhlins suspension, carbon-fibre wheels wrapped in Continental ContiTrailAttack 2 tyres, Rizoma controls, and a steel trellis chassis reinforced with lightweight composite elements. Rare, audacious, and unmistakably futuristic, the Lotus C-01 remains a landmark in limited-production motorcycle design.
