When engineering discipline collides with sculptural imagination, the result is this one-off BMW R 1250 R reinterpreted by Estonia’s acclaimed Renard Speed Shop for the 2021 World Championship of Custom Bike Building. Built on the foundation of the refined BMW R 1250 R platform, this machine transcends its roadster origins and enters the realm of kinetic art.
At its core sits BMW’s 1,254cc air/liquid-cooled flat-twin engine, delivering its signature blend of torque-rich responsiveness through a six-speed gearbox and shaft final drive. While mechanically familiar, nearly everything surrounding the drivetrain has been radically reimagined.
The exterior is dominated by hand-formed aluminium bodywork and a bespoke fuel tank that emphasizes purity of line over ornamentation. A CNC-milled front grille and a triple-tree machined from solid aluminium blocks reinforce the build’s industrial honesty. The design language is further sharpened by 3D-printed structural lattice elements and fork covers, merging additive manufacturing with traditional fabrication in a way that feels both experimental and intentional.
Visually, the motorcycle is finished in a restrained white palette, contrasted by gloss-black and brushed aluminium detailing. A black leather seat pad completes the minimalist single-seat configuration, underscoring its purpose as a rider-focused performance machine with no provision for a pillion.
Rolling gear is equally curated. The bespoke wire-spoke wheels come from Italian specialist Jonich Wheels, paired with gloss-black rims and fitted with Metzeler Cruisetec tyres for confident road grip. Stopping power is delivered via Brembo braking hardware, while intake breathing is enhanced with K&N filtration.
A striking performance accent comes from twin titanium mufflers sourced from the Ducati Panigale Superleggera, supplied by Akrapovič—a rare crossover that injects superbike DNA into a boxer-twin chassis.
Modern touring and usability features remain intact: a TFT display, heated grips, cruise control, and electronically adjustable suspension ensure the machine is not just a showpiece but a functional, rideable statement.
