Beachman ’64 Electric Café Racer: A Retro-Inspired E-Bike Built for Modern Riders

A hand-built electric café racer

The Beachman ‘64 is a modern electric café racer that blends timeless styling with contemporary electric mobility, offering a practical solution for urban commuting and weekend adventures. Designed to capture the spirit of classic motorcycles while delivering the convenience of an e-bike and moped, the Beachman ‘64 provides riders with a unique combination of vintage aesthetics, everyday usability, and zero-emission performance.

Each Beachman ‘64 is meticulously hand-assembled at the company’s North American headquarters, where customers can witness the production process and even experience the motorcycle firsthand through a test ride. This hands-on approach reflects the brand’s emphasis on craftsmanship and quality, ensuring every unit meets high manufacturing standards before reaching its owner.

Engineered to feel like a lightweight motorcycle, the Beachman ‘64 delivers an engaging riding experience that makes daily travel more enjoyable. Whether navigating busy city streets, commuting to work, or taking a leisurely ride to a neighborhood café, the electric café racer transforms ordinary journeys into memorable experiences without consuming gasoline. Its retro-inspired design also attracts attention, combining nostalgic styling with modern electric technology.

Practicality is another defining characteristic of the Beachman ‘64. A removable lithium-ion battery allows convenient charging from virtually any standard 120-volt household outlet using the included compact charger. Charging typically takes between three and four hours, making it easy to recharge at home, in the office, or while traveling. Riders can choose between a standard 2.88-kWh battery or an upgraded 3.6-kWh pack that extends maximum range from approximately 55 miles to as much as 70 miles.

Security features include a handlebar locking system that immobilizes the motorcycle by restricting steering movement, along with a double-locked removable battery. For added protection, the manufacturer also recommends pairing the bike with a high-quality security lock for enhanced theft prevention.

The Beachman ‘64 offers exceptional versatility through three selectable riding modes. It operates as a Class II e-bike with a top speed of 20 mph or can be registered as a moped, unlocking speeds of 30 mph and up to 45 mph. Powered by a 3,000-watt 72-volt brushless hub motor, the bike also features regenerative braking, remote start and stop functionality, seating for two riders, a 350-pound payload capacity, and a starting price of $5,499.
