2006 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Screamin’ Eagle Destroyer @ Bring a Trailer

FOR SALE: 2006 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Screamin’ Eagle Destroyer

One of only 650 examples produced

Purpose-built, factory-engineered, and unapologetically extreme, the 2006 Harley-Davidson V-Rod Screamin’ Eagle Destroyer stands as one of the most focused competition machines ever offered by Harley-Davidson.

Now available for sale on Bring a Trailer, this one-year-only model represents a rare opportunity to acquire a true turn-key drag racing motorcycle developed under the brand’s elite Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) program. With approximately 650 examples produced, exclusivity is guaranteed—yet it’s the engineering depth that defines its significance.

Visually, the Destroyer delivers unmistakable intent. Finished in Electric Orange and Vivid Black with silver Screamin’ Eagle graphics, the bike’s long, low stance is accentuated by a powder-coated double-cradle frame and a purposeful drag configuration.

Functional elements—including a headlight and taillight—hint at its production origins, but everything from the rear-set controls to the removable wheelie bar underscores its singular mission: straight-line performance. Lightweight 18-inch RC Components wheels are wrapped in Dunlop front and Goodyear rear slicks, while braking is handled by 292mm discs front and rear—adequate for shutdown zones rather than urban traffic.

At the heart of the machine lies a heavily reworked 1,300cc Revolution V-twin, a liquid-cooled powerplant far removed from standard VRSC models. CVO engineers pushed the architecture to its limits with 105mm cylinders, a 75mm stroker crankshaft, and high-compression 14.0:1 forged pistons.

CNC-ported cylinder heads, aggressive camshafts, and a competition-spec valvetrain elevate airflow and combustion efficiency, while dual 58mm throttle bodies and tuned velocity stacks maximize intake charge. The unbaffled, ceramic-coated two-into-one exhaust system completes a package engineered for maximum output and minimal restriction.

Equally critical is the drivetrain. A Pingel electric-over-air shifter enables rapid, clutchless gear changes, complemented by an MTC multi-stage lock-up clutch designed to manage immense launch forces. Power is transmitted through an Andrews five-speed gearbox and a chain final drive with quick-change sprockets, allowing racers to fine-tune gearing for specific track conditions.

Notably, the Destroyer omits rear suspension entirely, utilizing a fixed aluminum swingarm with steel struts—a deliberate choice to maintain consistent geometry under hard acceleration. Up front, a telescopic fork provides minimal compliance, reinforcing the bike’s laser-focused purpose.

More than a collectible, this Screamin’ Eagle Destroyer is a homologation-style factory drag racer—an artifact of a time when OEMs blurred the line between showroom and strip. For collectors and competitors alike, it represents a rare convergence of factory backing, race-ready hardware, and uncompromising performance pedigree.
