On March 18, 2009 Webbs premiere aution house in New Zealand held an auction of vintage and collectable motorcycles. The bikes were all either of historical importance or in a vintage class. Up for grabs were BSA, Norton and AJS motorcycles along with a very special Velocettebuilt and raced by Duncan Meikle and Burt Munro the man they based the movie “The world’s fastest Indian on.

Webb’s put together an online catalogue showcasing the entire collection which can still be downloaded from this address.

The Munro Velocette went for over $70,000. This was the bike that Burt rode when he raced the gang of rockers down a beach in New Zealand which resulted in a nasty spill and a 2 month stay in hospital.

This 1969 Triton T150 Cafe Racer is a beaut. Powered by a 750cc Trident engine and with less than 1000 miles on the clock since it was built it would be a great addition to any collection…it would be a real shame if the lucky winner doesn’t get it out on the road for at least a few more miles though.

The Road Rage was built by Dave Anderson and Ray Pratt in 2008. The pairs drag racing background guaranteed their creation would pack plenty of punch and showcase a plethora of custom high performance mods. The bike was entered in to the Sturgis Custom Bike show in 2008 where it placed 4th.
