My name is Geoff Baldwin and that's me on my Kawasaki W650 Cafe Racer, the bike that started it all. Back in 2005 when I bought this bike it was a stock W650 with a huge windscreen, luggage racks and crash bars. I had heard about Cafe Racers and had seen a thriving custom scene in Japan, but there wasn't a lot of information online about these bikes. So I took it upon myself to start documenting the Cafe Racer movement. By publishing stories about the history of Cafe Racers, documenting the progress of my W650 Cafe Racer build and sharing other builds sent to me by my readers the 'Return of the Cafe Racers' website was officially born in 2006.

Since then the Cafe Racer scene has exploded to become one of the most popular trends in motorcycle customisation. Here on Return of the Cafe Racers I now regularly feature custom motorcycles built by professional workshops and everyday people in their own garage (the backbone of the Cafe Racer scene). I review new motorcycles, riding gear and aftermarket parts and I publish articles about motorcycle lifestyle events.

If I was to sum up what Return of the Cafe Racers is all about...
It's a look at the new breed of Cafe Racer motorcycles hitting the streets, the motorcycles, brands and people that influenced their creation and the future of the Cafe Racer scene. It's a salute to the past and the present custom motorcycle scene and the people whose passion fuels it.
