The Kustom Kommune Melbourne

Living in a big city poses many problems for anyone wanting to build their own custom motorcycle or even maintain their own bike. With so little space available the aspect of even owning a motorcycle can seem impossible. So with a bike nut I have just launched a crowd funding campaign to raise the funds we need to set up Australia's first communal motorcycle workshop which we have called 'The Kustom Kommune'. To get the Kommune up and running we are asking everyone to help us by donating or spreading the word far and wide. Our aim is to help foster Melbourne's custom motorcycle scene by giving everyone the opportunity and the help they need to own and work on their own motorcycle...

How does a communal motorcycle workshop function? Basically we will have the space, the tools and the people on hand to assist you with your motorcycle whether you need to store it, rebuild it or service it. Members can hire DIY bays where they have full access to all of the facilities we have on site. We can store motorcycles for people who don't have space at home and we can lend a hand when ever you need it.

The Kommune will also be a place for making new friends, hanging out, talking bikes and a place for learning the skills. We will hold regular training classes teaching small groups everything from welding and fabrication to performing an oil change. It's about building a community and getting more awesome custom bikes out on the streets of Melbourne (and up on the pages of this site!).



Every donation we receive from $10 up will receive a reward as a special thank you for your support. From getting your name on the workshop wall to receiving t-shirts, magazine subscriptions, overall or a lifetime membership we want to make sure we show how much we appreciate the support we get.
