"Egg salad" is the latest custom motorcycle to roll out of custom workshop Super Rat. The bike was built as a partial streamliner for top speed runs at the 2011 BUB motorcycle speed trials at Bonneville salt flats.
The Egg Salads raw, unfinished appearance is a deliberate style choice by builder Carl Bjorklund that doesn't attempt to hide anything about its hand fabricated fairings. Personally I love the decision to keep the metal raw, although it may not be an ideal choice for longevity the way the fairings rust and ages after being out on the salt will add more character to this bike than a coat of paint ever would.
On the salt the Egg Salad's 500cc Rotax motor rocketed it past the ton to record a top speed run of 113mph. It's a far cry from Super Rat's showier bikes such as the Trident Cafe Racer and more recent "War Crimes" Harley custom, but it's performance makes up for it's lack of polished luster. Keep an eye on the Super Rat site for more about the Egg Salad's trip to Bonneville.
