The Murderdromes! Board Track Racing

Board track racing as replaced around 1930 by dirt track racing. Incidents on the track often resulted in high numbers of fatalities (both spectators and drivers) and the name Murder Dromes became a common reference to curcuits where the sport still took place. The huge wooden tracks needed to be replaced every 5 or so years which as you can imagine was an expensive undertaking. These guys were nuts. There will never be another motorsport like this again. The survivors of this sport have to go down in history as some of the craziest and luckiest guys on the planet.
